Match report: Trinity Oxley

It was time for our last away game of the season, travelling to Trinity Oxley. On a very hot day, it was very welcome news that when Trinity won the toss and elected to bowl first. We opened the batting with Josh Pizey and Gideon getting us off to a good start. Paul came in at three and started to score to put us at a good position at drinks. While we started to lose wickets, Paul was staying there and eventually made another 50 to add to his season runs. Paul was then joined by Lee and together they had a great partnership to get us to a good position. Paul eventually being run out. With the Exiles on a competitive score, Lee was joined by Charlie with three overs to go. Lee finished on a fine 48, bring the exiles to 190. Charlie and Leon opened the bowling and after two overs the exiles had Trinity Oxley 0-2 and we were off to a great start. The opening spell got us into the game and with good bowling from Aaron and Gideon meant that the game was always competitive. As the game went on, the Trinity Oxley Batters scored well and they reached target after 37 overs, with the Exiles just short off a par score. It was a great team effort, with some brilliant batting, bowling and catching from Lee and new boy Victor, pulling off a great catch on debut. Playing a game in the right spirit and could enjoy a drink after the game with the opposition. Sunday cricket at its finest. Player of the Match this week would be Lee, with a vital 48 to keep us competitive and then taking 2 great catches and all-round brilliant fielding. Well done Lee! Special mention to Paul also, with 4 wickets and another fine 50 for the season. We now move on to next week, with a home game against ACME, where we look to get back on winning form.
