Match report: vs Plastics XI

Sunday brought Plastics XI to the Lakes for an Exiles home game. On a week where the forecast was terrible for Sunday all week, it was a pleasant surprise to see most of the day looking clear.  After a quick roll of the wicket from part time groundsman Aidan, Charlie won the toss and elected to bat first taking in to account the thought of the wicket getting worse as the game went on and helped along by the Ed having to leave at 5pm... Luke and Ed started our innings and it was evident early that it was not the easiest wicket to bat on. After a quick run for Ed, he was bowled from a ball that stayed low and Luke was then caught. After some early wickets Josh arrived at the crease and once again got the Exiles into a better place with some solid batting and was then joined by Aaron who helped with some quick running between the wickets.  Just as it looked like he was set for a 50 he hit one straight to the fielder. Match report: vs Green Sox

Another Sunday and another game. This time a home game against a new team in Green Sox. As we all arrived, there was one big thought on everyone’s mind and the polite way of putting it would be to state it was not an acceptable pitch. With the wicket so far over that one side was a monster boundary and the other side even most new born children would fancy their chance at hitting a six over. That is even without going into how poor the wicket was...  Charlie won the toss and with a team heavy on bowlers elected to field first. Josh Pizey and Aidan were back in the team together and they opened the bowling, both starting excellently.  While there was not wickets flowing like the week before, runs were not easy to come by.
