Match report: vs Brixton Barbarians

It was the turn of the Brixton Barbarians and although we have played them many times, this is the 2nd time we have played at their ground. The ground did not disappoint on a lovely sunny day perfect for cricket with an amazing wicket.  We won the toss and Charlie chose to bat first, not a surprising decision as with the sun out and a great wicket it would have been madness to do anything else. Paul and Jez started the innings and got us off to a good start, Jez putting the pressure back on the bowlers with some attacking shots and Paul also hitting some nice boundaries.  Just as it looked they had seen off the tricky opening bowler, Paul chipped one straight up in the air to the keeper. Match Report: NECC vs Jamaica Inn Pirates

Another Sunday came and it was the trip down to Sussex for the annual game against the Jamaica Inn Pirates. A special moment as Charlie actually won a toss! It was arranged for it to be a 30 over game and that we would bat first.  Once the rain semi-cleared, Luke and Ewan started the innings for the Exiles. They both got us off to a good start, with Luke scoring quickly, until he completely missed the flight of a straight ball by about a foot and was bowled. Ewan then picked up some runs with some nice shots, until he decided to completely miss a full toss and was also bowled.  Lee then came in at 5 and fresh off his T20 game on Saturday afternoon, he came in when the run rate was getting lower and lower, providing an incredible innings as he batted the whole way through and was eventually caught on the very last ball of the innings after getting up to 35.
