Colts 2021 Review & Even More Summer Cricket!

Thank you!
With today being the last day of the NECC 2021 Colts Summer Programme, we must take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who has made it such a great success. Notable mentions must go to our Colts' parents and guardians; our coaches, Matt and Iain; our Chairman and Safeguarding Officer, Mark and our assistant coaches, Nico and Josh. However, most importantly, the biggest thanks must go to the Colts themselves who have been the heart and soul of the endeavour.

We have hosted a total of 38 Colts through the 9 weeks with an average of 25 turning up to every session; it has been a great and fun summer of Cricket.
We hope everyone has enjoyed themselves and we look forward to seeing you again next year when we will hopefully have a full calendar of both soft and hardball sessions.

But that does not mean there are not some fantastic opportunities to continue to play cricket through August and beyond! We will leave you with a selection below along with our best wishes from NECC.

Summer Cricket Camps
As part of our commitment to ensuring that our Colts have the ability to continue playing and enjoying cricket beyond our summer programme, we have been developing our relationships with two excellent clubs in the area. Both are running great camps over the coming weeks and the details are as follows:

Old Wilsonians are running camps for players aged 8-13 at their home ground at BR2 7HN with all abilities welcome.
The camps will run from 10am to 3pm with optional early drop off and late pick up on the following dates:

  • Monday 26th July
  • Tuesday 27th July
  • Wednesday 28th July
  • Monday 2nd August
  • Tuesday 3rd August
  • Thursday 5th August
  • Friday 6th August

More dates later in August are due to be added.
Cost is £30 per day with an additional £5 per additional hour if early drop off or late pick up are required.

Lastly, for 5-11 year olds, the ECB has two tremendous programmes which are run regularly at centres across the country:

All Stars (Ages 5-8)

All Stars Cricket provides a fantastic first experience for all children aged 5-8 years old where they’re
guaranteed 8 weeks of jam-packed fun, activity and skills development. The programme is designed to introduce children to the sport, teaching them new skills, helping them make new friends and have a great time doing so.
